How to serve and keep champagne

  • Place the bottle of champagne in a bucket with ice and a handful of salt (to expedite the chilling process) in the refrigerator. Never place ice cubes directly in the glass, because that will 'kill' the aroma's and the bubbles in the Champagne.
  • Hold the bottle on the bottom and not at the neck; this way it's easier to serve, while it adds some flair.
  • If you want to keep an opened bottle for a few hours, close it with a champagne cap.
  • In a high champagne glass the qualities of the champagne are done more justice than in a coupe; what's more: the bubbles will remain longer.
